I'm a bit late in getting my post up today, because I got trapped at the antique mall. Come on, you know, you've been there. I've been to two malls in two days. Poor me. I'm on a hunt for iron headboards for my bedroom. But, I'm a Wine Chic. Where ever I quest, I end up with wine things. So, no headboards yet, but I found these super cool items!!!
First of all, I got this awesome old cash drawer, that I want to use at wine tastings - we're doing a really fun one on July 21 at The Elms Hotel (it's newly renovated and I can't wait to see it!) in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and this will be perfect. It will also work well in Wenwood's Summer Kitchen Cafe'. It's so charming with the worn metal on the front and the wood interior, and the springy things that hold the bills work great.
Next, I came across this Samsonite vintage travel case.
I like to keep a stocked overnight case in my car, because sometimes when I'm out delivering to the far reaches of the state, I just decide to check in to a hotel if the drive home seems just too much to take (refer to my Unexpected Thursday post!) Packing this and having it in my car is gonna be so much more fun than the cheesy Wal-Mart thing I have now. Yay!!
Yet another wine related find is this chilling bucket with a rustic metal patina. I don't think it's all that old, but it's heavy and perfect for wine tastings right down to the grape motif engraved along the edge.
These little touches make a wine tasting seem so much more special, and I love to have a table that is decorated and beautiful to welcome tasters at any event.
I did come across one thing that I may use at home, although I'm not sure where so it may end up at the winery too. I just LOVED the color on this old crystal door knob set, and I couldn't resist grabbing it. Isn't it a beauty?
It's been fun hunting, but as you can see, when your a Wine Chic you are always questing for wine stuff. Even when you don't know it. Or you're on your "day off." And need stuff for your house. That's why we're so thankful that the wine world rocks. I mean, seriously, I get to go antiquing and call it work. Don't tell anybody!!!!
But darn it, I still need those headboards.
Happy Trills,
Laura
