A while back I posted an idea for a wine and food pairing party at home. Here's one of my favorite recipes from that post, just in time for the warm weather. Enjoy!
KIRSCH SORBET
(Kirsch is German for cherry, and a Wenwood Wine!)
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 bag frozen cherries
1 cup of Wenwood Kirsch
1/4 cup lemon juice
In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Cook, stirring, until sugar is completely dissolved. Cool completely.
Place the remaining ingredients in a food processor; add your sugar syrup and blend for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth. Place the puree in a 13 x 9 glass dish. Freeze for 1 hour, or until the edges of the puree begin to firm up. Stir, and return to the freezer for 2 more hours, or until firm. For best results, just before serving, transfer the sorbet back to the food processor and blend for 2 minutes, until smooth. If you skip this step, the sorbet is still delicious, just a bit icier.
Happy Trills,
Laura
